The timelines are configurable and can be created as per the company needs. You can add up to 3 succession timelines for instance 0–2 years, 2-4 years and 4-7 years. Add employees to different timelines based on their existing experience, tenure in the job, and the desired cross-functional mobility required for the role.
To identify potential successors or high potential employees (HiPO) for a critical role, you can use a 9 or 12 grid Performance Potential matrix.
