To consider overtime in the employee attendance, make sure you have enabled the setting and defined overtime rule. Follow the steps:
On the Dashboards homepage, go to the Attendance widget and click the Configurations icon.
The Attendance configuration page appears on the screen. Scroll down and go to the Calculate overtime section. Select Yes to enable the setting.
In the %Day Worked Calculation and Attendance Status section, specify the overtime rule applicable in your organization.
For example - A regular shift is 9 hours long. If an employee works an extra 4 hours beyond that, making it a total of 13 hours, then you can count half day as overtime. To make this clear in the system, specify time as 9 to 13 hours and write '150' in the %age day worked. The system will calculate it as half a day of overtime.
Click Update to save the changes.
Once the settings are changed, the overtime will be calculated automatically and employees will be able to see it in the attendance calendar.
To check overtime, open the monthly attendance calendar and if a date is marked with a red Overtime icon then the employee has worked overtime. You can also view Effective days worked that gives a summary on employees’ days worked.
