What does variation report in payroll show?

In Empxtrack payroll software, what does the variation report display?

The variation report allows you to compare the existing payroll with a prior payroll and look up any variations. This only works if the prior payroll is finalized.
While processing the payroll, go to Reports and check for Variation report. Select the prior pay period from the dropdown and view the comparison in webpage format.
